- Major Research Online Public Access Catalogs (OPACs)
(NB: To access from an off-campus computer, you will need to login with your name and university ID)
If you cannot find what you are looking for in the Online Public Access Catalogs (OPACs) of research libraries in Cincinnati, your next step is to search in other OPACs. The principal OPAC for academic research is OCLC WorldCat, which shows bibliographic listings of libraries that are members of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) consortium. Use the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses (formerly UMI Dissertations) or OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center if you are looking for theses or dissertations that are relevant to your research.

- XU Library's InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Service
Once you have found the titles (books, journals, theses, dissertations, etc.) that you are looking for, you may borrow these titles by filling the appropriate online forms at Xavier University's InterLibrary Loan service. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.
All undergraduate and graduate students are entitled to use the InterLibrary Loan service to borrow books, journals, theses, or dissertations. Please ensure that these titles are not found in XPLORE or OhioLink before you use the InterLibrary Loan service. Titles that are found in the OhioLink catalog should be requested using OhioLink directly.
